Products / Product Category

To create a product, three steps are required: Create a RatePlan type Product, a product category and the product.

1) Create the Rate Plan (Products)

To create the rate plan, you will have to perform the operation in the Rates menu ” (Rate Plan Regime) In the lower right corner you must select the “+Add Rate Plan”.
Here you must fill in all the information about the product/service/experience.

Rate Plan Type – Select product

Name Rate Season – Name that will, for you, be associated with the product
• Only with promotional code – If you want the product is only available with the application of a promotional code
• Only through Facebook – If you want the product to be available only for reservations via Facebook
• Mobile only – If you want the product to be available only for mobile reservations
• Apply Profile Discount – If you want the profile discount to be applied to the price of the product (entered in the “Info” menu – Booking Profile)
• Apply Discount Derived from Children – If you want the discount to be applied to the value of the child

After filling the fields above, you must define the cancellation policy that will be applied and define, finally, the fields that will be visible to the guest, regarding the information – the title, description and detail.
We remind you that you should always put as much information as possible in the mandatory fields (Title and description), in all languages, so that the guest has access to all the details of the product reservation.

 

2) Create the product category

To create the category, you must go to Info ” Products ” Product Category Here you will find the list of all created categories:

To add a new one, simply select add a new category in the bottom right corner under “+Add Product Category” and fill in the fields.

Code: You must define a code for the product category to be the product name itself
Name: Name of the category, filled in in all languages
Description: This is not a required field, so you may not fill it in.
Several products can be associated to the same category.

 

3) Create the Product

To create a category you will have to do it in the menu Hotel Info ” Products ” Products

Here you will see a list of all the products created in e-GDS Backoffice as well as their main characteristics.

To add a new one, simply select add in the lower right corner under “+Add Product” and fill in the fields:

 

Code: You must define a code for the created product. You can even write the name of the product itself
Product Category: You will associate the category you have already created to the product
Mode: Here you define how you will manage the products, if by quantity and the products are sold until they have no availability or if they are always available until you make a sales closing submissions history.
By Period: The duration of the products, where you can define the hours in which the product can be reserved
Per Person: If there will be different prices per person
Image: Image that will be available in the booking engine and on the website associated with the product

The title and description that the system presents is related to the information that you will find in the booking engine, in the products area before selecting the product/service/experience

 

4) Send Availability

After all the above elements created, you must do the sending of availability, ie, indicate for which periods it is possible to book the product / service / experience.

To do this, you must select, in the Backoffice, the menu “Booking Engine” products”.

In this menu you will check a calendar only if you have a product available, otherwise the calendar is not displayed. In the calendar you have access to all products online, as well as the days when they are available or not.

In the lower right corner you have a button that will give you access to the area where you send the availability of the products.
Here you should select the options presented and after selecting “Save” the product will be online in the booking engine:

Fields to fill in:

Weekdays: you may not select some day of the week that will not put the product online, or in case you have distinct week/weekend prices.
Public, Profile : they are already selected by default
Release: If you want the product to be booked a number of days in advance
Rate Plan: Selects the product rate plan
Product: you must select the product you want to put online
Rate Template: The rate plan to be selected

The system will show you the product/s selected in the fields above. You must fill in, if the product has availability, the availability as well as the prices.
